The drip cap flashing in most locations of this house was not bent out by the installer, in fact, it was pitched back into the structure meaning it was basically scooping water into the wall, additionally, it was cut short and had no end dam (a.k.a. wall leg). To minimize the removal of brick, the fenestration was made smaller with treated 2x4 lumber which was integrated into the Celotex sheathing with a fluid-applied flashing.
